east central iowa | So, who gets the tariff money that is collected by any country in the world? What is this money used for? So, in a country like the usa which imports all sorts of trinkets from foreign countries, Isn't this going to just make the consumer have less spending money if wages don't increase to compensate? This effectively just transfers wealth from consumer to the government except that its worldwide. I'm just trying to understand what the end game is here. Some of the countries on the list that charge the usa high tariffs are third world countries so maybe that explains why they stay that way and since we have historically charged low tariffs, and we are the wealthiest on the planet. thoughts? | |
