"the barn will be a safer place to be than a camper or cabin unless the camper is inside the building" That depends, I have a camper at a campsite at a farm in another county. It is an aluminum stud camper with tiedowns to a concrete pad. I will take that in a storm anytime over a pole barn. A modern aluminum stud camper is designed to go down the road at @75mph. Very few pole barns can sustain 75mph winds for an extended period of time.
