North east Nebraska | All good thoughts . We also ranch in eastern Nebraska and often use control burns to our benefit as well there but this is way more then I know exactly how to handle.
Latest news is they got an atv stuck in a swampy area fought it till it started on fire then in the process of trying to get fire rigs to it started several more fires and it got away . Was a red flag warning day and nearly impossible to control. Took an oil mat road to kill it finally.
