Maybe if you just want to strow some seed out somewhat metered and not actually plant and cover at a consistent depth. Marliss drill was one of the first big mistakes I made in my early years of farming. Hauled that thing off to the big Blackmon consignment sale in Stuttgart and practically gave it away.
